This is most strangest thing that happened to my friend - and she has the scar to prove it :)
My friend appendix almost burst. She was rushed into surgery.
The resident on her surgery came in the waiting room to inform her parents that the surgery went well and she'll be fine. He was pakistani and the parents started chit chating.
Turned out her parents knew his parents from Pakistan. (small world)
In next few days - he would come in and check in on her. She says he had a great bedside manner (we all joke about that too). She was so embarassed because she was in hospital gown and looked so aweful!
The next time his parents were in U.S. - Parents came to dinner at my friends place. They both started to like each. Within the year, both of them were engaged and now happily married.
