I can’t believe I found the love of my life in such an unusual way
I was working for a solicitors firm as part of my final year at uni in January 2007 and one day in comes a tall good looking guy wearing a pin stripe suit he was well groomed and oozed confidence!
He came up to my desk and said if I can pass on these files to the solicitor dealing with it and said they should have been sent via courier but they had not turned up and needed to be here today. He then asked how long I have been here and I said only for the summer but finish up next month to go back to uni. He said that nice and for a few mins started talking about what law I prefer and how I’m finding final year. I said that it’s been okay etc etc.
He on leaving said “there’s my card and if you need any help just email or call me” he was so pleasant and really really genuine without being smug. I have never ever been in interested in guys to date or flirted with them, as a matter of fact I hardly spoke to guys. I kept the card but did not think I would use it.
About 6 months later a close family member passed away and I really started to struggle with my dissertation, became less bothered about it and was making simple pathetic mistakes. I don’t know why but I thought of the solicitor that I had met while on work experience, was it luck, fate or pure coincidence that I still had his card somewhere.
I emailed him and asked if he could give guidance and look over my work and he said of course he can, I emailed him and we started talking, he helped me soooooo much and supported me with everything. As uni was about to end we started talking more and more on a daily basis, he again pleasant as ever and genuine as anyone can be. He even got me a placement to start work without interview. We decided to meet again something that I would never have thought of in the past!
Even before we met I knew there was something special about this guy and once we did end up meeting I was more than sure that this is the guy I want to be my husband and I hope he thinks the same way. After the meeting we were hooked to each other and he said if his parents can ask for my rishtah ! Shy as I was I said yes yes WHEN!! I gave him my parents number and his dad phoned my dad to ask to come over……who was to know that our parents knew each other very well and we got engaged after 6 months and married by the end of the year…… It’s the most amazing thing that’s ever happened the happiest I have ever been and we both love each other so much it unreal, we even work in the same firm now. And I am happy to say that we are a couple that never gets enough of each other.
1 year on and we have just come back from the Burj Al Arab in Dubai for our anniversary, honestly cant believe I found my soul mate like this, or did he find me hmmmmm !
