Re: love is blindness
I respectfully disagree.
I think love is having one's eyes opened.
In a normal platonic interaction, if a person finds a "negative" quality about another, they tend to amplify that bad quality and it can turn into their defining trait.
When you're in love you tend to focus on a person's good qualities rather than bad. You love and care for them despite any shortcomings (pun not intended) they may have and look past it to really see a goodness in them.
But I do see how this can be called blindness because you choose to look past the bad stuff. I see it was a good thing. Everyone has bad qualities, just takes the person who loves you to look past it and still think you're the most amazing person on this Earth.
Re: love is blindness
No it isn't.
There was once a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and ended up refusing to marry him.
Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying..... "Just take care of my eyes. I'll continue to love you forever.."
Re: love is blindness
That wasn't love. That was a girl having her need for attention fulfilled. Don't compare love to silly things.

Not at all.
But you're just comparing apples with oranges.
This ofcourse accepting the premise that your story is TRUE, which I'm only accepting for the sake of argument.

Re: love is blindness
Sarcasm? I take it you have nothing more to say?
philo: people who call love silly are the ones who have been stung badly beacuse they though their feelings were love and had nothing to learn from the experience. I suppose you fall into this camp?

Re: love is blindness
Meh . sorta reminds me of the story in Kite runner where the protagonist kills his wife in the essay because he needs to cry. His step brother asks him why he could just cut an onion.
And blind people can read & write.I actually documented visually impaired & blind children and one girl had even written a book & been published & she was only in grade 9…
Milton was blind.
Re: love is blindness
oh.. well if you want to start with fact checks and reality, since when can eyes be transplanted? :\
