Lotus Flower to ease the pain during childbirth?

Hi,

Has anyone one heard of using a lotus flower to ease the pain of childbirth…i’ve heard you are supposed to put the dried flower in a bowl of water and let it open up while you are in childbirth and this is supposed to ease the pains of labor. You can usually get the flower from Mecca/Medinah Sharif.

Is this a sunnat? if so what is the sunnat? have you girls done this?

it's not sunnat

I have heard the same infact it has been practiced by some in my family too. My mom got one for me but it never got used.

i used this flower rather impressive it just immitates your womb in a strange way :/

i am not confirmed about teh name in english u mentioned,means that its really a lotus flower,but the urdu name is shijra e maryam,and i have used it in my delivery,its true that it helps in delivery,when the time of delivery comes this round stemed shijra e maryam is put in bowl filled wid water and is placed under the bed of the women who is delievering teh baby,and amazingly it willl open wide and gets bigger then its original size,after teh delivery it should be removed from water riteaway after some time it will come back to its original size....
BIBI MARYAM used it during her delivery,since then its been used and its really helps,i hv tried..

i'm sorry but unless the flower is releasing some kinds of opiates into the air i can't see how this thing will actually work, besides having some kind of psychological effect

murghi jee if u don believe in it ,it dosen't mean that it dosenot hv any kinda effect,if geta chance to go on a trip to medina and macca u will find hundreds of peeps celling and buying this shijra......so there must be something in it,don jus argue,for teh sake of logic,if u dont find it helpful don use it,ihv used it
and i know it helps....if u can't see something it dosen't mean that it dosent exsists!
