^i'll agree, they're showing jacob as a good guy now but probably he'll be the bad guy and the smoke monster is the good guy who is the protector or something of the island
I really liked the last episode. I am glad Richard Alpert is back.
The world in parallel - Are they showing that all these folks are connected even in real life and that since they are getting another chance - they will correct th mistakes that the made on the island?
I always feel sorry for Ben Linus - I don't know why?

In the 17th Century, a British Ship, called the Black Rock, crashes in a Hurricane on the Island. Among the Survivors is Jacob and another person. They live on the Island and understand its full potential. However an evil comes over Jacob and in a power struggle, Jacob kills his friend and becomes the Uber Boss of the Island and lives under the foot of the statue. The Island also prevents aging.
Basically what is going to happen in the remaining episodes is this.
Jacob was the guardian of this island and was preventing the smoke monster from leaving it. However, tired of being the guardian for over 200 years, he traveled around the world and a made a list of who will replace him. Among them was Charles Whidmore, but Whidmore was kicked off the Island in the 1950's because he was not a suitable candidate.
But while Whidmore was on the Island and the Island shifted in time, he ran into Desmond from the future. Then some 50 years later, he sees Desmond going out with his daughter. So he tricks Desmond is going on this boat race which Whidmore hoped would crash Desmond on the Island and so he could track that Island down.
Once he detects the magnetic discharge, he sends a team of mercenaries to kill Ben Linus and take the Island but the smoke Monster attacks Whidmore's team.
However, he manages to locate the Island again after it stopped shifting through time and now has arrived with a new Team of Mercenaries and something in the Submarine which could help him take over the Island.
The Smoke Monster took the form of Locke because early on in Season 1, it stared right into Locke's eyes and it didn't harm him cause it saw the evil in him.
Jacob who knew the end game sacrifices himself and gets killed by the smoke monster which has taken the form of Locke. And now Locke has formed a tribe in which people are possessed with evil and will battle Charles Whidmore.
While both sides take casualties, the candidates of who will replace Jacob will slowly be narrowed, until a new guardian of the Island emerges.

that scene where Jacob and the other guy are on the Island and Jacob kills him...
U see a 17th century ship in the background
as for jacob's arrival on the island...that was my theory...that they came on a 17th century ship...cause there were no white people in the Pacific until that time....
but new spoilers have emerged which tell how Jacob got on the island....but i dont wanna spoil it for you....

They also showed the ship on the middlle of the jungle in the last episode with Richard Alpert Jack and Hurley inside of it.
So, the whole theory of Jacob stabbing someone on the ship is incorrect as per yesterday's episode. I was kind of disappointed with Ricardo's story ... but, the ending with his wife showing up was sweet. Hmmmm, it's like the smoke monster is the devil and Jacob is trying to keep evil from taking over the world ..... Hmmmmmmmmmmm
