Lost Talent?

Who do you think that in our show-biz industry is not properly utilised?

I just saw a scene in some drama being telecasted from Hum TV soap. I saw Rashid Mehmood. He has powerful performances like ‘emperor Ferdinand’ in historical drama ‘Shaheen’, Laag (playing Nadia Khan’s cruel husband) and many more. But lately, he is being type casted in roles with no margin.

Same is the case with the legend Muhamamd Qawi Khan.

Re: Lost Talent?

Yeah. I would love for them to play 40 year old heroes. :khumar:

What do you want ? A Mughal-e-azam play where they can play Akbar baadshah ?

Re: Lost Talent?

oh man.. They have played character roles in their youth. Now, they just appear as heroine ke bechare Maa baap

Re: Lost Talent?

Talat Hucene

Re: Lost Talent?

yes, he hasn't worked for long.Probably, he did a telefilm on this fathers day from PTV

Re: Lost Talent?

well i noticed many artists of ptv quetta and peshawar center regarding this matter, they were highly talented but didn't get recognition as there was a charm of lahore & karachi centers at that time...

Rashid Farooqi is a fine actor but what he is doing...

Re: Lost Talent?

Bec showbiz industry is out of touch with reality. Great artists have been relegated to playing stereotypical stock characters. Rather than embracing a universal theme, writers are recycling the stereotypes of same genre.

Re: Lost Talent?

There is so much you can do in that role, It doesn't have to be a bechara charater.I loved Qazi wajid's character as a loving, over protective and sensitive father of Alishba in Pehchaan.Their relationship and the bond they shared definitely left an impact on the viewers. All praise to bee gul who penned down such strong characters.

Re: Lost Talent?

The one who is in Ramchand Pakistani ?

He is a regular in plays and soaps.

Re: Lost Talent?

I don’t like his dialogue delivery.

There was an episode of Nisf sadi ka qissa with him and 3 other character actors recently.

There was also an episode on Khalida Riyaasat last week. :fatee:

Didn’t Rashid Farooqui lose his son recently ?

Re: Lost Talent?

yes he is regular in plays and soap and doing crap roles…:chai:

Re: Lost Talent?

not everyone is lucky to get such scripts. Qazi Wajid was working for so many years with PTV directors. I don't remember him working in suitable role, after Haider Imam Rizvi's 'Hawain'. We know how much versatile artist he is.

Re: Lost Talent?

yes, as i mentioned in another thread that now there is no importance of supporting roles that's why many artists are Wasting their talents...

Re: Lost Talent?

I like how 'Uzma Gilani' selects her roles. She is still giving performances like 'Tujh pe Qurban', 'Taar e Ankaboot' and now 'Firaaq'.

Re: Lost Talent?

She is an intelligent lady but not every one is........

Re: Lost Talent?

But I reckon Uzma Gilani's most powerful character and performance were in Shahzad Khalil's Panaah!

Re: Lost Talent?

That was another era beyond superficial projects.

The lady's choice for good script in these days is praise worthy. Even, I liked her small role in Babar Jawed's no so good 'Man o Salwa'.

Re: Lost Talent?

Real life has both ups and downs, humor and serious undertones. But what do we see in our dramas? it's either too dark or over the top comedy.

Re: Lost Talent?

True. For me that golden era is the benchmark to judge performances.

Re: Lost Talent?

our stories revolve around becharee women and men have been marginalized. older men are lucky to even get work. humaree stories kub budlain gee?
