Lost Pakistan passport

Hey all!

A page of my friend’s Pakistan passport got torn off after it somehow manged to get into the hands of his nephew (yup true story!!) and he is not sure what to do.. will the passport be still valid for travel? If not, how can he get the new one and what would be the procedure to do so? He is based in Pakistan.

anyone with similar experience?

its really urgent so would appreciate some prompt response please…

Thanks!

Re: Lost Pakistan passport

He should contact the nearby passport office and check with them, if required they’d issue him a new passport.

Re: Lost Pakistan passport

First thing first, passports are not supposed to be handed over to kids for playing.

Secondly, if the first two pages are intact, and the page which was torn, did not carry a visa, it should be fit for travelling purpose.

If your friend tried to alter something on the passport, he should be in for trouble because everything on his passport is recorded on computers of immigration and consulates if it carried visas of foreign countries.

Still take the precaution of checking with the passport office if the passport is valid for legal purposes.

Here is the list of Passport offices in Pakistan.

Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan

Re: Lost Pakistan passport

I am sure about East Asian countries. The passports remain valid even after a page has been torn off. Not sure about Pakistani passports which are 'suspected' even with no torn pages. Should confirm with passport office or immigration people.

Re: Lost Pakistan passport

If your friend has to go for a new passport, please tell him to apply for an urgent passport as recently it netted the government an additional 9 billion rupees in just three months :)

the first two pages are in tact but the page which was torn off carried entry/exit stamp of a country he visited..

will check with the passport office also though..
