No, it is not haraam at all. In fact, it is perfectly fine to ask ALLAH for help in any language.
However, Allah, as mentioned in His Book, has created this world as the place of Cause and Effect. It is in His hand to make anything possible without having a logical explanation (e.g birth of Jesus:as: ) but He is Ar Rahman, Ar- Raheem
He has taught us how to pray to Him in His holy book. He guides us from the start of the book about how to pray to Him. **Iyaaka Na’budo wa iyaaka nasta’een **(We worship You and we only ask help from you)…
No matter, how you ask Him, He will listen to your prayers; yet by asking Him using the prayers He has taught us in Quran makes the whole situation beneficial for us in two folds. By reciting, such prayers, we get extra sawaab (The Brownie Points!) plus the lost thing back…
That explains, even losing something may end up as mercy of ALLAH:swt: for He’s the knower of everything.
