Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

Frankly speaking before joining this forum I have never come across so much interest or discussion about the castes. Why is it so.

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

Nisa it is pointless, as muslims we should not even consider cast.

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

Ask ur uncles.

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

my parents have never considered people by their cast
i know my grandparents may do so but i am not one to judge sum1 by their ancestry

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

May be you are one of Hazaragaan ?

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

hehe... oh well forget it.... doesnt matter anymore, i've already chosen da caste of my kids :D

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

Nisa ask your mum or dad what your "qaum/zaat" is, I know in Urdu it means nation but in Hindko it has a slightly different meaning and no you are not Punjabi, you're Hindko, my bhaabi is Hindko and I use to call her Punjabi to irritate her but Punjabi and Hindko languages and people are really quite different and Punjab province is only upto Jhelum, it's nice to see u say Attock is part of NWFP but officially it is not but who cares what people sat in Lahore say? Attock people will always be inseprable from us.

I'm Pashtun of the Durrani tribe from NWFP but I have Hindko speaking cousins in Attock who belong to Durrani and other clans, who knows we might be related? Which village are you from?

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter because caste is from the Hindu religion and none of us are Hindu anymore so now caste names only serve the purpose of family names like Smith or McDiarmid do amongst goras, use the term tribe or clan instead because caste suggests inferior or superior, which is just bullsht and in peoples heads to make them feel better.

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

so if attock is not part of nwfp then where does it belong? this is getting so confusing.... i dun even know where i'm from now lolzz

my family is from attock, sarwana. i wotn be surprised if we're related.... i dun even know my cuzins in pk!

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

nisa - i think this does not matter in the end :)

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

got to jet :)

Re: lost identity... HELPPPPP

frankly I could care less what caste I belong to. I have no freakin' clue and neither do I care to know. It is quite silly

In a way ur right, it ties you to an identity and customs which are so irrlevant in the modern world even in Pakistan let alone in the west, we all go back to Adam and Eve so it doesn't really matter if we have track of the entire bleedin familytree or not, it's liberating not worrying about these silly things.

I'm just a Brit over here and Paki when in Pak and I couldn't care less for most of my tribe, feel detached from them because they are jaahil morons most of them, my immediate family is enough as my tribe.
