Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never knew concealers can make you look so flawless!! i dont know how comes i never tried them all these years:teary1:..BUT again i dont know which one to get? like if im getting a mac one there are plenty of choices and i checked out random tutorials on youtube and got to see some ppl were using 2 concealer and some even used 3(isnt that bit too much product been used makeupaddikt???)!! and all of them makeup gurus used it in NW even though their foundations were in NC! Please help me out with this :frowning:

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well im no make-up expert but from what little i have heard/read about it, there r concealers for under eye bags/dark circles and then for other imperfections on the skin i.e acne marks, pigmentation, freckles, etc. So you pick the concealer based on what part of your face needs more help with it hence the choices you get by different brands.

I am def not into foundation/concealers cuz i am not a make-up person but recently i tried concealer alone on my face and i felt it brighten it up! So that was good otherwise i am not too fond of using unnecessary things on the skin.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NW stands fir neutral warm and NC stands for neutral cool. It depends on your skin undertones. Makeup artists use NW for undereyes to correct the blue-ish, green-ish skin caused by dark circles. They use NC foundations because the rest if their face probably has yellow or olive undertones. I use nc25/30 for foundation. I don't have major dark circles so I use Mac prolongwear concealer in NC30(for summer) and I go a shade or two lighter in winter

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My foundation = NC37
My concealer = NW30

Hope that helps :)

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Concealers are nice...

Dior Skinflash is not a concealer per se - more of a brightener but for under eye circles it does the trick beautifully.

I know I post about them regularly but CoverFX really does a fantastic job. Their concealers are awesome.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make-up Forever concealers are really nice, they stay-put and and give complete (maximum) coverage. Concealers depend entirely on the coverage you need and what you need to cover. Under-eye dark circles, blemishes etc. There are green/yellow corrective concealers meant to correct different types of problem area's.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish i could get makeupforever but cant get that here :( does anyone recommend mac concealers??

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find MAC too cakeyyyy

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes most mac concealers are cakey specially the ones in the pots, try moisture cover from mac though its amazing and its liquid so it doesnt cake up and its long lasting.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like MAC's Studio Finish for imperfections (NW25 for my NC25 skin). I have yet to find one go-to one for the under eye.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, but their pro longwear line isn't cakey at all. I don't like MAC foundations at all. As a matter of fact I am not a MAC user at all. I tried their pro longwear concealer and I seemed to work for me. Try it if you stop by MAC counter/store.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard many good things about their pro longwear line actually. I might check it out.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually dislike MAC foundations like anything...i own studio fix and prolong wear i feel some drug store ones are even better than this! but since i have heard really good stuff about the mac concealers so thought id try them...i dont know but whenever i go to the counters for checking makeup i cant really tell whats good and whats not until i actually buy it and try it at home...so any other concealers guys? apart from mac ones.

Re: Lost about concealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to Mac and was told to use Select Coverup in NW25. I had it on all day and I really liked it: it gave a natural finish, didn't oxidize, and lasted all day. I would definitely buy it if I hadn't heard good things about Hard Candy's Glamoflauge, which is only 6 bucks so will try that first (Wal Mart didn't have it in my shade when I went).
