Loss of Curves via Cardio

Re: Loss of Curves via Cardio

ok thats hos it works.
If some one has tons of extra fat on hip/thigh area. lunges going to reduce that fat. Built muscle instead.
Now imagine a person who very weak in those areas. Again lunges is going to built muscles, hence its going to get thicker.
I lunges you could add weights too. like hold weights in your hands, more weight more strength.

Re: Loss of Curves via Cardio

First of all i'm not a fitness trainer but do certain things.
1:If possible play racquetball
2: Walk with 3.5 mph speed with 2.0 or 2.5 incline
3: use elptical so you don't get stress on your kness
4: Do some squats it makes your kness stronger and make your butt in shape.
and remember pain is good. No pain no gain...good luck.

Re: Loss of Curves via Cardio

there's no such thing as spot reduction. You cannot just shed the fat u have on ur tummy unless you decide to minimize your fat % overall. Yes, if you're not eating right the exercises that u might be doing will actually result in loosing what u already have ( in exercise science , its known as catabolism ). So, eat 4/5 small meals full of nutrients ( protein being the first , carb the second and ofcourse healthy fat intake ), and continue to do cardio.. (cycling, treadmilling, swimming...whatever you do to get ur heartrate up)..that'll help your problem. And remember add light weight lifting into your routine as well..that'll help a lot... but when doing cardio make sure your heart rate is up from normal for atleast 20-25 mins consistently, thats when u'll be taking the full benefit from it.

PS: I work as a part-time fitness trainer at one of the well known fitness centre in toronto called 'xcel fitness'. Some people did have the same problem as you and i suggested them what i suggested you. Try that and do let me know the outcome.

For any other question ..PM me..

Re: Loss of Curves via Cardio

i started with a trainer a few weeks ago and believe me the clothes that never even got over my shoulders are abt an inch loose! amazing feeling. I was eating everything but the kick-ass workout she made me do paid off. This is what she did; this is a gym routine on machines
* start off by walking on the highest incline at 3.5-3.8 mph for 15 mins
* do leg presses (start off at abt a 100lbs and increase as strength builds)
* do inner and outer thigh machine ( start at around 60-80 lbs - or wherever u think it's gna be a challenge)
* do chest presses about (2 sets of 20 reps)
* lateral raise ( 2 sets of 20)
* squats ( 2 sets of 15 reps)
* lunges ( each leg 15 times)
* ab crunches on a stability ball using medicine a 2.5-5 lb medicine ball (2 sets of 30)
* 5 min cool down on a treadmill or any cardio machine u prefer.

I had the biggest tummy to lose! and thanks to this ive slimmed down A LOT!!
make sure your drinking enough fluids throughout the day to cleanse ur system.. also have your fruits in the morning and veggies in the evening.. as it takes longer for the sugars in fruits to burn.. than does the sugar in veggies.

GoodLuck!!

Re: Loss of Curves via Cardio

Also remember that to keep your core strong your lower and upper body strength also matters. Target training seldom works and can only be done if your very very fit!! So focus on your whole body as opposed to your stomach.

Mine is an Ex Marine -- so you can imagine how in my face he is...
