Losing weight after Delivery

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

i lost all of the 25 pounds i gained in about 4 weeks after pregnancy. i did take care of what i ate, but couldn’t exercise. i think it was the breastfeeding that helped. i still have a small belly though, dunno how to get rid of it.

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

Breastfeeding really helps alot i did it for first six months also i think looking after a baby is like you are 24h on physical exercise at least it is in my case. My son is mA 9 months old and i can wear all my skinny jeans i bought before pregnancy.

7 weeks after having my son…i fit into my skinny jeans from before pregnancy…and they’re loose on me. Breastfeeding is great + eating healthy.

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

Exclusively breastfeed, it’s easy as that. Or can be difficult to do - may I add.

me too :bummer:

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

breastfeeding is the key it seems! baby better latch on!

Girls what does eating healthy mean. I am now 3 months post delivery and not lost much. Mushkil se 4kg

You won’t lose it all in a few months. Give yourself at least a year to return to your previous weight/figure. It took 10 months to gain it…will take the same amount of time to come off

With regards to eating healthy - idk if you breastfeed, but usualy breastfeeding women crave high calorie stuff…try not to indulge. Just snack on veggies and nuts, eat a variety of foods (fish, chicken, red meat, steames veggies), and do some light exercise (walking, light jog). Best thing is to plop baby in stroller and walk around. Too much exercise or extreme diets can lead to toxins being released in your bloodstream, which can then go into your breastmilk…not good.

Just keep it simple and give yourself time, you’ll see results then.

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

I lost my weight within a month after delivery. Mostly by eating dry nuts and fruit. That is what my mother was making me eat!

With my second, same thing. It works.

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

Wait! That’s all you ate? :hayaa: Were you breastfeeding?

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

Haha, no!

Ate everything else! Regular home cooked pakistani food. But in the morning and before sleeping, I would eat dry nuts and dry fruits.

I wasn’t able to breastfeed my second, but did breastfeed the first.

Lost weight either way because of eating a lot of dry nuts and fruits!

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

Breastfeeding helps uterus go back to its shape faster than when you are not (so it seems you are losing weight faster) Also breastfeeding gets you more thirsty so you drink more liquids which helps with the weight loss.
But even if a woman is not able to bf, follow all the other tips written in this thread and you should be able to lose weight.

Eat small snacks throughout the day, that way you tend to eat small breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

Losing weight wasn’t as hard, it’s the post c-sec tummy pouch losing which is the problem

Re: Losing weight after Delivery

I need to go on a really good healthy eating mission and try to breastfeed my second baby whch is due in may inshallah! Got alot of weight to lose as i fell prgnant when my first was 6months so 2 pregnancies 1 after another!

So looming forward to being slim
Again roll on may:)

Totally agree! Breastfeeding all the wayyy. Plus running around after my lil one has helped for sure. Didn’t even diet or work out and I lost all the weight within 6 months. Alhamdulillah

But as you mentioned, what to do about the stubborn tummy pouch that won’t budge???
