how to go about this?
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
Why even have such short-term goals?
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
Hmm well cz then you won't feel like throwing away your weighing machine after it refuses to budge despite doing everything correctly.
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
You seem to be doing well in the other thread. Losing 2 inches is really good going, so keep going with that. I wish I had your perseverance. :)
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
thanks uzzy its the scale that i am struggling with havent lost a lb in almost 3 weeks
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
Not sure if you are doing only cardio or some strength training with it. Though, if you are loosing inches, that’s good & better. Muscle weighs more than fat. So measure instead of weighing.
I started strength training a while back (lifting weights and what not). The scale did not move. But what I noticed was that my arms started getting more toned (less flabby & inches down). I was burning fat & developing muscles without the bulky look. So muscle will always weigh more (from what I have been hearing), and will give you a more toned down & slim look. ![]()
It seems like you are already on an amazing track
Hope it helps specially if you are already losing inches. Also, on the flip side - you might not see lbs dropping for weeks and then the other weeks you will see drastic drops.
Good luck though. 2 inches = impressive!
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
Hmmna - I didn't see your post earlier regarding the 30DS. That's building strength & toning you :)
I was actually going to add in - that if you really did want to lose 5 lbs in 10 days, I have seen people go on juice/smoothie diets. It drops lbs fast but usually its associated with water weight. So not sure if I would recommend it & since the weight might be prone to coming back. But just giving you an option. It will all depend on your diet :)
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
thanks neeno18 for your input. how much are you lifting? and how many time a week?
its hard to break my scale addiction i need to see the needle move otherwise i get very demoralised.
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
I opted out for lifting and now I'm doing Insanity!
When I was doing lifting - I used to go to workout classes 2x a week + 2-3x a week cardio.
Lifting involved bench press, dead life etc. Mostly around 15 lbs. For lighter weights I did around 5 lbs. Those classes also involved some HIT (high intensity training).
Aww I know how you feel. My weighed sorta increased (like 5 lbs) after I started doing that. I wasn't too happy till my fiance & cousin talked to me about it. After couple weeks my weight was back to normal :)
You will see the drop in lbs - just hang in there & keep pushing! I was told not to look at the weight machine (really hard not to) - but keep track of inches (body measurement)
Re: losing 5 lbs in 10 days
I have this book that has a 4-day jump start thing...i haven't tried it yet, but the authors wrote that it is water weight but that it'll act as a wya to boost your confidence and keep you going. I'll post more in info when I get a chance.
