Lord of the Worlds

Why is it mentioned in Qur’an about Allah being Lord of the “Worlds”? Essentially I am asking, what is the significance of the plurality, worlds? What worlds are we talking about here? Any explanations/ideas? Thanks.

Your question is based on the assumption that our world is the only world, or even our universe as we see it, is the only universe, which is not true!

One should also ponder why AnHazoor :saw: has been called ‘Ramat-alil-AlameeN’

Or it is in the context of what the world(s) were at that time. Namely the known planet, heaven and hell. Aside from that you can make up any thing tha makes you feel good.

I think "Worlds" refers to the duniya and the akhirat.

I've always interpreted it as other planets that exist, other galaxies, etc, which ahmadjee is suggesting. So I guess its up in the air what it means then, is there no tafseer behind it?

It's been used in different verses, if you quote the one you read, I am sure someone can find you a tafseer if not a few different ones.
