Loans worth Rs60 bln written off during Musharraf era - GEO.tv

ISLAMABAD: The government banks and financial institutions waived loans worth Rs60 billions during the 8-year military rule of General (retd.) Pervez Musharraf, Geo News has learnt.

Those who got their loans written off include politicians, bureaucrats and former military officials. In addition, business groups and engineering companies also got their loans waived during 1999 to 2007.

The list includes Federal Minister M**ian Manzoor Watto, Senator Haroon Akhtar Khan, Malik Allah Yar, father of Minister of State Malik Ammad Khan, Sindh’s Opposition Leader Jam Madad Ali, and Haleem Adil Sheik of PML-Q Sindh. **

LAHORE: Punjab’s Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Thursday that had the national exchequer not robbed relentlessly; the Pakistani nation would have been in a position to help others instead of begging.

This he said while speaking at a ceremony hosted to mark the World Disability Day in Al-Hamra Hall of Lahore.

The chief minister announced the establishment of an exclusive village for special children. Besides, he also announced a special package for the teachers of special children.

Sharif also set up a special committee to be headed by provincial minister Malik Iqbal Channer with the objective to create employment opportunities, provision of technical education for the disabled children.

No, he is saying the exact opposite.

While the whole establishment, is involved in massive corruption, while the military is involved in unaccountable corruption, Zardari, who has been punished far more severely than anyone, is talked about like he is the only one involved.

This was the case even before he was President.

The matter with our dear president is that he is the RICHEST man in the country and cannot claim any legitimate source of his wealth. For PPP leaders, some can claim part of their wealth through land holding and industry. The PML N leaders have industries and trading businesses. Zardari had neither.

the above story was about Mushy who benefited his friends for political and other reasons... and same mushy was allowed to leave Pakistan when Zardari was in govt and was capable of punishing him.. was it because zardari believe in live and let live read you do your corruption and i'll do mine...or Mushy offered him 10% of the money he stole from Pakistan... i asked these questions because out of no where you brought zardari in this topic...

Can you name them? as far as i have understood, anyone who points out the blunders Zardari led govt is making is being accused for conspiracy against the democracy...

two wrongs do not make a right. if musharaff was corrupt and sold the country zardari is a notch above him.

when ppl are corrupt Allah makes their rulers such ppl who are corrupt.

  2. Did I or the news item mentioned anything about Zardari?

If Zardari cant do this (punishing the criminals), then he should stay in his Palace in UAE and try to make money from legitimate source.. what is point in taking govt if you cannot serve justice… i guess the only the reason your beloved zardari wanted govt. is to make more money from corruption and that is why they don’t want to punish anyone else…

Last post before i waste anymore time.

I have talked about Zardari corruption, and the fact that he has been punished for it.

Yet the same corruption committed by others, goes unmentioned.

Many are fooled into shouting the establishments propaganda against Zardari, while the same establishment loots freely without any comment, or punishment.

That is the point I was making about this thread and the lack of responses to it.
