ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar has said that government has scheduled privatization programme of 35 government institutes within next three years.
Talking to foreign media on Friday, he added that some 500,000 new tax-payers would be brought into tax net in next five years.
Ishaq Dar claimed thatPML-N government will successfully achieve the target of raising economic growth rate up to double figure.
The minister mentioned that departments running on deficit are burden on country’s economy, adding due to these institutes country’s economy suffers loss of five billion dollars annually.

The government has no role in running businesses. It should privatise most of the public sector organisations as they are loss making and a heavy drain on the nation that can ill afford to pay for their losses. However instead of these organisations being sold to a rich few and concentrating wealth further in their hand, I think the government should sell the organisations directly to the general public, by inviting them to subscribe to the issue. I prefer the route of IPO.
