Looliwood

I stringly suggest that the lollywood film iindustry should seize its film froduction… including music direction, musci recoding studios, studios, acting, direction, editing, dance direction, etc etc etc… asp singing…

And mean while…so go to the Indian film institute in Puna… and get some vigirious training from that institute on the few of the categories mentioned above!!!

for without proper training these sad fellows, shall never be able to yield a satisfactory and pleasing film… let alone a block buster!!!

otherwise, it will that lollywood at least a 100 years before they could be able to complete with bollywood:
at least 25 year + before they would be able to complet with banglawood

Why not send them to Hollywood?

Who's going to pay for their education?

Financial Aid

Hehe...can you imagine Reema waiting in the financial aid lines of a US university?

hey,..i say "COMPLETELY STOP IT...... ALL OF IT"!!!, pakistani movies are rubbish and everyone knows that for a fact so jus get rid of the entire LOLLYWOOD INDUSTRY that is filled wiw shite,....their dramas are 100% so shud jus stick wiw that + come off it man,..Pakistan is a muslim country and look at the **** the actresses wear (not that they look any less uglier), its worse than wot the indian actresses wear in their films, its too revealing.. that is strictly forbidden so i fink they shud wash out the whole industry at one go,....believe me >> thats the best way!!>> no need goin 2 Bollywood or Hollywood or wotever...

paki-angel agree with u 100%... our film industry is a soooooooooo crap and unIslamic... I say get rid of it... it's the only way left... Lollywood is a disgrace to Pakistan... our drama and pop industry is fine just dammm Lollywood...

Pakistan Zindabad!

I knew that I wasn't the only one... finally my views are at last accepted by the right minded majority!!!

I strongly disagree becuz a film industry is vitally important to a nation. Like Antonio Banderas once said (hehe, can't believe i'm quoting this guy, but hey i've had a tuff week), some movies are made for entertainment and some are necessary. We can educate our uneducated quite a lot of social and moral issues plaguing our society which have, for a long time, been conveniently swept under the mat for about 50 years. At the same time, Pakistan's public is entertainment starved which is why they turn to India for entertainment. Many people in my generation would turn to a short and sweet Indian movie than keep up with a drama week after week, only becuz its quick and it satisfies their need for entertainment fast so they can do other things with their lives. Not everyone has the time to sit on the couch n watch dramas.

I mean, Pakistanis are drooling over Indian movies, wouldn't u rather have them drool over Pakistani movies?

Granted, the industry needs a huge make-over. And it needs to be in the hands of dedicated people. Dedicated to work, not jhumkas and thumkas. I think we can build a decent industry that does not rely on sex appeal to sell a movie. But, that's not gonna work until we educate people entering the field properly and until the audience is educated to understand a real work of art. For example, it was saddening to see the lack of reception that JINNAH: THE MOVIE got in Pakistan, espcecially since Jinnah founded our country! Why did this happen? Becuz the uncouth typical pakistani audience found it boring since they had not the intelligence to appreciate the movie and also becuz the theatres were not an environment where intelligent people whished to go to watch this movie. Most were waiting for the rental release.

The government intervening, shutting down the bakhwaas producers and providing financial aid to educated producers, directors, writers, musicians, etc to come into the place and rebuild it, would not be a bad idea. However, I'm not sure that Mushy wants that on his plate right now with all the religio-political groups wreaking havoc in the country.

wow wow wow... hang on a sec... I think that you have missed the point here!!!... since when did any (and yes, I challenge you to disprove this) lollywood movie impart a social message??? since hwne did they entertain... in fact if one start to watch the movei, one feels like banging one's head at the wall!!! it's a blatant fact!... come on yaar... we don't live in afairy takle world... and for better or worse we all know that lollywood movies are totally down the drain... how can we forget that???

we could well do that… but most of the artistes won’t understand a single word… this way…we would first have to give them english coaching classes… this means extra funding

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/wink.gif

you see… therefore by sending then to Pune… would be relatively cheaper… and teh funds can be collected thru mutual public donation… coz its the public which suffers the most

What can Lollywood do to improve? (cud ne1 answer this quest, it'll come in handy for my speach I suppose to be givin for my Urdu Alevel)

If Pakistani's actually bothered watchin pakistani movies u'd know it not so bad, specailly punjabi movies, When Pak release a good movie worth watchin no1 goes out to watch it, but if bollywood copy's it, and add half naked women, it's a big hit, So pak has started doing the same and know all pakistani's a critising it, I think all Lollywood needs is good camera's, couse the ones they are using at the moment are crap, the movie looks 30 year old

finances finances finances.. talent is overrated..

There is No Spoon

Okay, I will take up your challenge, good sir.

I think we both agree one one thing: the movies being made currently are, 99% of them, have no social message and if they do, they are not bringing it out effectively. Also, I think we both agree on the fact that today's movies are a far cry from entertainment. And yes, I like to bang my head against the wall when I see a Pakistani film too.

But where we disagree on is the method to approach the problem. If I am understanding the general mentality in this thread, the strongest suggestion is to close the industry and do away with it all together. In other words, from this point on Pakistan will not make films, and it will not have a film industry. My counter-suggestion is that we should not shut it down. We ought to weed out those that do not belong. Perhaps we need a stronger censor board that doesn't accept bribes from rich producers who want to see their filth up in theatres. Maybe we need a neutral committee to do the job, or perhaps we need government intervention. I dont know which of the three would be most effective. But my assertion here is that the best thing to do is take out, by force, those producers and directors who are forcing the script writers and performers to dance to their perversion or let economics take its course by pumping in talent such as Jami, Sameena Peerzada, Javed Sheikh, Dr. Aur Billa and many other people who are interested in making professional films. Khudi khudi, those stupid untalented folk will run out of business. If you're observing the film industry and its profits, you'll see its already beginning to happen. Most falthoo movies are going bankrupt and they aren't lasting past one week, with some exceptions of course.

It seemed by your response back there that you were thinking that I disagree with you in areas where I actually do agree with you. Hope that clarified my point of view.

Agree with you 100% and to answer that Aladin hey dude go watch Teray Pyar Me, Ghar Kub Aao Gay. when was the last time you saw a Pakistani movie? Now don’t just say a month ago or something for the sake of this discusion. The movies I’ve mentioned above they do have a message and you would find that message only if you could spare some time to Pakistani movies and support them, instead suporting the bindians unless you are one of those dhoties too.

Teray Pyar Me is such a nice movie, the songs, the cast, and the MESSAGE all so perfect. People like you would NOT even comment if bindians make a movie that would disgrade Pakistan, give bad impression on Pakistan, infect you would just go out and watch it happily. If there is a war between bindians and Pak I think there whole film industry will be enough to win the war.

Pakistan being an Islamic state DO NOT need to worry about getting ahed of bindians in the film industry. Pak should concentrate more on other fields such as sports, nukes, nuclear(which we are already ahead of them). Should make more powerfull nukes to set these bindians dhoties on fire
