oh come on ladies!! I'm a 5 foot 6 giraffe and my hubby is a 5 foot 3 ADONIS!!! Physically so gorgeous that he should be memorialized in marble. So WHAT...I dont wear heels anymore, but thats kind of a blessing, yeah? And when you have Adonis in yer pocket well high heeled shoes are just NOT important lol!

parisenoor, are talking about a partner with similar interests and goals? What do you really mean by intelligence? Are you attracted to guys that have a higher IQ? Similar interests, aspirations and goals are the things that keep us together. Looks really don’t matter if you have the mind connection.

Out of all the qualities of a person, I think intelligence and wisdom are not easy to find. If we talk about external beauty only, well, I think every other person has something different and we cannot find the “most” beautiful person, I think so.
External beauty DOES play a part I am not excluding it. But I think relatively less emphasis should be placed on this attribute. Thats why, I said, to me it is important to look at the person “as a whole”

there are not easy to find true, but to me external beaty is not important as long as it is not mine i mean i care about my look not about guys one

No, its easier to put an emphasis on looks because that’s what your body tells you to do.

Its quite hard to follow the saying “mind over matter”.

And men have an especially hard problem with it.

i don’t follow it has come naturally with age:D …sure i was concentrating on look when i was 15-20…but not any more…

i agree with your statement about men…they place more emphasize on their partner look than we do:(

In the past, I have been attracted to some of the most unattractive men out there … shorter than me, balding, acne, you name it, they had it … if you genuinely feel attracted to someone’s personality, then their looks go totally out of the window. In fact, **when you like someone, you start noticing the nice qualities about them and their flaws become pretty minor and irrelevant **… at least that is how it is for me. I know most people aren’t like me in this regard.

That’s how it is for me to.^^^

I put more emphasis on a person’s mind and what’s in their heart rather than their looks. However, they must carry themselves well. No one wants a slob…at least i dont. Looks are so superficial they tend to deteriorate with age. At the end all you are left with is a person’s heart and personality. In my opinion looks are just an added bonus.

^ I agree with you. In the long run, it is only the wisdom and heart that can keep the two together. If we look at life as a whole there are so many ups and downs that two people have to face, there are so many occassions where extreem support from the spouse is needed and if the concentration is on looks, I am afraid, life will srew up.

Personally, I also give extreem importance to the approach of a girl towards life rather than her looks. What are her priorities in life, what are her long term goals about life etc etc. A girl must be reasonable, is all that I think of as far as looks are concerned.

Any nonserious girl, I notice, conscious about her looks is a ground for me to think twice, thrice and more :p and may be get back from her..............

Some people were very surprised when i told them that i attach importance only to someone’s heart and soul qualities and don’t give a damn on how beautifull is a guy…if i were to choose a lifepartner
I’d like to have your opinions about it: do you think look is important in mating issues? more important than intelligence and education?
