In some cases it is considered bad to look straight into the eyes of one’s elders, for a long time, during a conversation. In other cases not looking into the eyes of the person is either considered a sign of guilt or lack of self confidence. Some people consider low gaze as sharmaing of dulhan. Some think of it as “narazgi”.(not happy with anyone) Some avoid it when they lie.Others take alot of other meanings out of low gaze.
I personally feel difficult to look into the eyes of a stranger of opposite gender, if I am in a situation where it is not possible to avoid talking to her.Also when talking to elders.
I find it easy to look into the eyes of someone I have understanding with.
When do you find it easy or difficult to look into the eyes of the person you are talking to ?
i find it hard to have eye contact with a stranger. if i see someone looking at me i would look at them for a second and then look the other way. it is easier for me to have eye contact with people who are close to me.
i have no problem withstarin at people..
but the thing with me is when someone is looking at me in the eyes i cant stare back at them..not because i am shy or whtever..i actually dont know why..but lets say if someone looks me in the eye i'll just smile..and look away!
if a stranger is look at me/staring at me w/e u may call it…i look at them n give em a nice smile n turn away
when a person i no(friend) is staring at me or w/e i stare back..n then we end up having a staring contest …n then she/he knows not to do it again…cus theyll lose:phati:
When a teacher/principle looks right in the eye …my gaze is always to the side i look at them and give them afew glances that yes im listening. cus sum teachers prefer u having looking at them so ur understanding i gess.

My personal rule is that if it's a professional/academic setting, eye contact is definitely a plus. If it's a desi person, I wont do eye contact. I personally cannot make eye contact with either men or women, I just feel iffy
