looking for some info..

Can any brother or sister provide me with a link about the timeline of the Prophets, on a gregorian scale. I need this info for some acedemic purpose. For example, If I mention the name of Hazrat Idrees A.S. , what would be the year xxxx BC …

This is not a discussion - and I also understand that this is not a thread worthy of being opened in this forum, mods may close / delete it, once my question is answered

Re: looking for some info..

Hmm I think my friend might have it or might know something about it. Let me get back to you in a day or two after asking him Insha'Allah.

Here are a few links to cross-correlate with archaeological references with Biblical and Qur’an ones. Islam has a tendancy not to provide dates for when certain people came. They are seen Islamically as superfluous detail.

However, you can get a good idea with some of these links … inshaAllah

but still pretty useful information - Thanks a lot :k:

The logic is that Islam is a collection of beliefs and duties, the beliefs serve the purpose of making us adhere to our duties. It is the intention of the actions we take that we are judged upon. That is our life here on Earth.

The numbers of people who dwelt in the Cave and when is the precise date of Qayyamah are all things the people were preabsorbed in preventing them from righteous conduct, because those things led to conjecture and debate towards no real end.

The crux of my point is this … so what Ibrahim (AS) came this century or that century, for the people who believe will take his message of conduct, for those who don’t believe may try to find ways to disprove his existence by technology and science, but will that remove the message of his conduct? It is a good exercise you are doing and please provide me your findings, but I just want you to know that Islam is not rich with dated records because that was not seen as the most important things to record, unlike the Roman empire who wanted to glorify man by preserving his acheivement in time. Do you see what I mean inshaAllah?

Re: looking for some info..

History is glorifying man? That's an interesting if not convenient thought since it allows us to ignore history and how it relates to Islam (or life in general for that matter). It's somewhat ironic since Islam interjects so much history into its practice like no other religion. Post 570 A.D. history that is.
