Hello everyone,
I’ve just registered with this site and what a fantastic site it is for finding great music.
I just wonder if anyone has any songs by Nahid Akhtar, I’ve searched the net, searched the CD stalls of Lahore and had very little luck.
I have a few tracks but not many and a few that I had on tape are have deteriorated.
Any tracks would be appreciated - I have to admit I don’t remember many titles other than the following :
Likh diya ( ? di) hum nay aap kay naam
and some vague fragments of other songs.

Hi, thanks for the replies Beinglonely and Goodfella.
The tracks I am looking for are the one above, “Likh diya ( ? di) hum nay aap kay naam” I may not have the exact title, her duet with Mehdi Hassan - “Zindagi rahay na rahay” ( I think).
There is also a song which I can only vaguley remember - she sings as a daughter-in-law who has married into a family only interested in her money and is basically telling them how she is going to make them pay for deceiving her. The song was in atleast two and perhaps three “segments” which were sung in a variety of what you might call styles.
Sorry if that last description is vague but unless I can lay my hands on the cassette it was recorded on it is all I have to go on!

Just generally, I think Nahid Akhtar should have a thread devoted especially to her - she had a fantastic voice and I have only heard a few of her songs.

I have sent you a message with the names of some websites where you can download Nahid Akhtar's songs.
The second song is from the film "Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat". I do have it on audio cassette. I will see if I have it Cd. I do have the song "Tujhe Pyar Karte Karte" in Nahid Akhtar's voice from the same film.
I agree she has a fantastic voice and "Tarasta hai yeh dil " is a great song.
One song which I also need is "Tha Yaqeen " from the film Suriya Bhopali.

I am afraid the song, Tha Yaqeen, isn’t one that I know.

Hi UKaudiophile,
Go to Cooltoad and then on the music link and then on to world. Type "Nahid Akhtar" and you will find her songs. I get atleast 18 songs of her and they are other songs also in Cooltoad. Check your spellings. Try again and then tell me.
