soo I'm reviving this thread in hopes that people will recommend something besides the diaper genie???

i was about to buy the diaper genie but its gotten so many bad reviews all over amazon and babiesrus that now i really wanna try out another diaper disposal system or even save my money by just using a regular trash can with scented bags. please make recommendations based on your experiences in more recent times.

I bought the Diaper Genie Elite II last month, it was on sale at Babies R Us for $5 less than the regular price, plus I had the 20% off coupon so the final price was around $28 rather than $39.99. I bought it for our bedroom upstairs, hopefully it will work okay to curb the smell.

We're not using one. Just a trashcan with deodorizing trashcans.

I think Diaper Genie is pretty good, the newer one that is. What I do is I put each diaper in a plastic deodorized bag before putting in the diaper genie...that minimizes odor and also minimizes the mess. You can get a 100 pack box of diaper disposal bags at dolllas store, they are awesome.
