Looking for a particular Hadith...

I am looking for a reference of Particular hadith. I have heard that many time that Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) many times mentioned not to believe what one says but to believe after looking by himself or doing research.

I need the hadith with reference of book and Hadith number (In format e.g. Sahih Bukhari > Book # > Chapter # > Hadith #)

Help will be highly appreciated.

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith...

dont know the hadith, here is the Quranic verse....

Quran 49:6
*O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done. *

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith...

It's about not to believe anyone unless you researched it yourself... Any Hadith or Verse related to that?

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith…

Salam brother hiname,

This is possibly what you are looking for;

**17:36 Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun inna alssamAAa waalbasara waalfu-ada kullu ola-ika kana AAanhu mas-oolan

Yusuf Ali: And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).**

In this verse Allah is telling not accept anything that you have no knowledge of. For every act of hearing, the sight or the heart you will be enquired on JD.

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith...

Is there anymore similar aayat in Quran? If anybody is known of similar aayat, then please do post here... I need as much reference from Quran and Hadith as there can be on the matter > "One should not beleive anything unless have done research on it by himself"..

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith...

I need reference to show people that's it's mentioned in Quran or Hadith that we should not believe molvis whatever they say but we should research ourselves and trust only our eyes when religion is a concern.

Actually, I am working on Islamic Website which contains basically hadith and quran databases and basics knowledge articles in Islam. But not putting lectures from any molvis/scholars. I like to put the site moto which is that do research yourself from Quran and Hadith database instead of trusting whatever molvis say. The reason I see that there is too much muslim sects are because the contraversies in teaching by molvies though we don't find contraversies if we read Quran & Hadith by ourselves. I need to put references from hadith and quran to promote people to research.

I hope you understand what I am trying to achieve here... I need more references, help will be highly appreciated.

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith...

I was watching views on the news on ARY the other day...and Dr Zakir Naik was on the show..he was also mentioning this topic...that one should research before believing something...

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith...

Here is another verse which compliments the one above:

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: *"Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales*; and do not look for faults in others, and do not spy, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert (cut your relations with) one another, and do not hate one another; and O God's worshipers! Be brothers (as God has ordered you)!"

(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Hadith 90)

It may not look much alike, but the idea is closely related: Do not make assumptions or be suspicious without knowledge (of the issue).

:)

Re: Looking for a particular Hadith...

Anybody know The reference Dr Zakir Naik gave. He did gave a verse number from quran (On ARY) but I missed it completely.

Help will be greatly appreciated. I need more refrences..

Allah Hafiz and take care...
