I’m somewhat interested in purchasing a light weight reasonable laptop. My current laptop I believe weighs around 7.9lbs.
It’s a Toshiba P4 and works perfectly fine. The only issue that I experience is its weight. I find it a little heavy and I feel it won’t be very convenient to carry it in my backpack everyday to school.
I haven’t decided whether I’d really take my laptop or if I’d still to the method of paper and pen for note taking.
If I do decide to get a new one, I’d want a Centrino and likely the one with dual processors.
I’m more inclined to purchasing one from Future Shop because of the easy payment (installments) method.
I saw a number of Acers and Gateways that looked light weight. Even some HPs and Compaqs looked light weight, but Toshiba was completely a different story.
What are some reliable brands/machines that would last another 3-4 years? My budget’s around $1000 CAD - $1500 CAD (really pushing it).
