How do you deal with someone who always seems to be looking for a conflict?
For ex/ they can take a perfectly reasonable, innocent statement and look for problems with it.
Or, they take a look or silence to mean something more than what it is.

Those are bullies and you should know how to deal with bullies.
Re: Looking for a conflict
I would need a more specific example to say how I would respond to it.
Re: Looking for a conflict
I have a very jokey way of saying the hard truths. I laugh away people trying to look for conflict.
Re: Looking for a conflict
ignore them...if there be a need and/or if possible, just shun them!
Re: Looking for a conflict
I just minimize contact and conversation with these types of people altogether.

^ agree with the posts above.
I wouldn't spend my time even worrying about it, but rather remove myself from their company or just have as minimal conversations with them if they are a person you can't simply avoid.
People like that are just asking for attention and the best thing to do is just to ignore them
