Looking for a book

Hi there,

So my dad’s been looking for a book for as long as I can remember and now I was hoping to make the searching a bit more active because it would make the loveliest gift and he never takes anything so I’d like to do something nice.
Apparently it contains some of our family history and since my we have portraits family trees and all that jazz this will complete his collection. As far as he knows the title contains ‘the chiefs and something of India’ which I know is not helpful at all. I searched a little bit and found ‘The ruling chiefs, nobles and zamindars of India’. He mentioned the book is around 100 years old and since this is from around 1915 I guess it fits the bill, it’s by A. Vadivelu and I cannot find it anywhere.
A quick library search showed that the nearest copy is in Harvard and Michigan. I’m in England so that’s kinda far fetched.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites/organisations that could help me or if anyone miraculously has a copy that they would be willing to sell or photocopy some part of.

Harvard university press.

I have a friend there who might be able to help... though it seems unlikely that even a Lady of her magnitude could get the book re-printed en-masse. Perhaps she could at least have a go at getting some bits and bobs or perhaps sending a transcript of it electronically.

I'll PM you if I make any progress.

I think GDIASA was right they might have a copy at the University of London or perhaps someone there could obtain an electronic copy. Technology these days is brilliant.

GIDSAAAA, how are ya? How did you find out?! I doubt they have an electronic copy, it's not very popular but maybe I can get a train to London before his birthday.

Searching through Google, I arrived into this forum. I am also looking for a copy of Vadivelu, The Ruling Chiefs, nobles and zamindars of India, Madras 1915.
Does anyone know if the book has been reprinted? I need it for my Dissertation.
