I’m not sure which section this thread would go in…but i’m looking for the story of “Hir Ranjha” and “Anar Kali”. I know these are avaialbe in pakistan - but i’d like a copy in ENGLISH (can’t read urdu).
I was lucky enough to find “Umrao Jaan Ada” in english online, but I can’t find these two titles.
does anyone know where they might be available?
Re: looking for a book...???
copies of these books are available in english...getting ur hand on one might be a bit diffi.
Hir Ranja is one of the UNESCO collection of rep. works on pakistan series. the authors you can check under are Warris Shah, Charles F. Usborene and Mumtaz Hasan. it was published in 1973. i think the book was translated and entitled "The adventures of Hir Ranja".
Anar Kali-was translated into english as well. search it as one word though.
these books can be found at certain public (american) universities for sure...( UNESCO pact). english print is available in pak-isb to be exact.

Here’s Hir Ranja:

We have an abridged version on GS:

I think you can also find ‘Anarkali’ online. But there are different versions of the story. Can’t recommend any unless I’ve read it. Google it anyways. You might find something credible.
Are you specifically asking for books?
