Looking after the cooking pots ..

I find it the hardest to clean the cooking pots , not from inside, but from outside. The grease is hardest to remove and particularly, for those who are not very strong people, its hard to apply strength in washing out the burnt grease on the outside of the pots and pans.

Question is , how do you look after your pots and pans? what are the tips that can enhance the life of the pots..

Re: Looking after the cooking pots ..

use S.O.S pads and ask your ‘sartaaj’ to rub it till it’s shiny!

Re: Looking after the cooking pots ..

Right after cooking, I empty the contents of the pot into a dish, then pour water+dish soap let it sit for a few minutes; Its so much easier to clean it that way. This is for non-stick pans btw

My issue is my stainless steel pressure cooker; very rarely or so my onion masala decides to stays intact with the bottom of the pot; thats when I pull out my vinegar and let that sit for over-night; works like a charm; but I hate the smell. Eeww

Re: Looking after the cooking pots ..

For stainless steel pots I first wash them with fairy liquid and metal scourer. This gets rid of the grease. Then to give them a shine, I wash with Cif and scourer. And all are pots look like new 15/20 years later. This won’t work for aluminium pans.

Ok , thanks girls , I am going to try the tips out.. I think the reason mine go black at the bottom is coz I may not be doing enough to take off the grease completely during the washing .. :hmmm:

Re: Looking after the cooking pots ..

how to take care of non stick pans ? its coating is removing from centre

Re: Looking after the cooking pots ..

once the non-stick pans start chipping, you must toss that in garbage because it then becomes toxic.
