Longwear Lip Colour

Several companies have come up with long-wearing lip products.
Some you have to prime for, some you have to apply balm afterwards so that they don’t dry out.
Some are “stains” and a nightmare to remove.

What are your tried and tested successes?
Are they truly long-wearing or do you end up re-applying (i.e. can you get through a meal? a full day at work?)
Are they transfer proof?

I picked up KVD’s Liquid Lipstick in Lolita and Bauhaus. Trying Lolita today to see how things go…

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

Nobody has tried anything?

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

In terms of drug store products, Bourjois (UK) has ahhhmazing liquid lipsticks that do not budge for hours.

Limecrime liquid lipsticks are amazing too.

I found that applying lipstick then powder then another layer of lipstick and powder makes it super long lasting, however it does make my lips/lipstick crack (dunno if that’s just me though).

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

Maybelline Superstay 24hr DualEnded Lip Color , I have tried and tested.

It doesn’t go away , had to actually use make up remover wipe to remove it.

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

I’ve been wanting to try the Maybelline Superstay…forget to look for it when I go to the drugstore.

The KVD Liquid Lipstick that I tried is not bad. It did look like it needed a touch up around 4:30 pm but that’s not so bad considering I had eaten a proper lunch with it on. The thing that I liked best about it is that I didn’t need to put a balm over it so it wasn’t at all sticky, it did not dry out my lips or crack and it provided a very matte finish.

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

With all that powder I think the lipstick is bound to crack…I have used this technique for some weddings and events when I know that I need only two or three hours of staying power. It just doesn’t seem practical for an all day solution. Plus it’s not a “transfer proof” solution either…

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

L’oreal Infallible 6 hour lip gloss.
It has a glossy shine and the color stays put for at least 8 hours for me. In between those 8 hours, I’ve tried regular cleanser but it doesn’t remove it thoroughly.

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick stays the whole day and you need baby oil to take it off

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

Maybelline superstay 14hr- tried and tested and love it.

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

Is it drying?

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

Mostly liquid lip tints are long wearing and transfer-proof. I’ve tried korean brands which last long however arenn’t very natural looking. Another choice are lip crayons i found last long and are transfer-proof.

Lip creams also last long but are very drying i use them as a lipstick base i find they elongate the wear.

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

AN, no it it doesn’t dry my lips, but I do use a bit of lip balm under it.

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

Thanks! I think i’ll try it out then which colours do you recommend?

Re: Longwear Lip Colour

AN, it depends what you to wear. For natural look, my fav. for couple of years has been 055, it is a little warm am peachy shade and looks good with our desi warm undertones. I bought 080 couple of days ago, it looks a bit mauve but is cool natural and in my opinion doesn’t even show, so very natural. My fav. party color is 020, not quite Fuchsia but pretty bright pink. Have fun trying the colors
