Longest over in ODI

Mohammad Sami’s second over was 17 balls long and cost him 22 runs. It included 7 wides and 4 no balls. It is the longest over in a one-day international.

Shame on Bangladeshis..Even in an over of 17 balls they couldnot make world record of highets run in an over.

hamare yaha, jub koi baccha aise bowlling karta hai to hum us ka over suspend kar dete hai. it is then called "Baby over", and some one else finishes his over.

and guess whats next, he never gets to touch the ball again..

shabaash, jaldi say jaldi cricket kay sub records apnay naam ker lo, Pakistanio. record is a record, chahey acha ho ya bura. Keep 'em comming.

^ ^ bad(not an english word, read it as hindi/urdu) se badnam bhala.

Everyone has a bad day! Leave the poor man alone, It could have happened to any one of them. Let’s not forget the way he bowled (1 out in the first over on second or third ball) trying ignoring the “no balls and wides”. You will like the guy :k: I do!

:jhanda:

or hamaare haan jab koyee aisa karta hai to ham kehtay hain ke "he has disqualified as a bowler and his oevr is cancelled and he does not bowl again in that match"....

:jhanda:

Baichaara Sami

chha gaya sami :jhanda:

so thats one whole over to bring up a single legal delivery…
and that too resulted in neither a wicket nor a run… :hehe:
a complete waste of a delivery…

Woolmer consoles Sami

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer had words of consolation for Mohammad Sami, after the fast bowler set a record for the longest over in one-day international cricket.

Sami opened the bowling for Pakistan against Bangladesh on Thursday. He struck in his first over, but fell to pieces in his second.

Sami bowled seven wides and four no-balls in an over that needed 17 balls to complete. Skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq took him out of the attack as soon as the over ground to a halt.

"Poor old Sami had a nightmare - and that happens, " Woolmer sympathised.

“When it goes wrong, it can go really wrong.”

Woolmer believes the horror over was caused by Sami being jaded. In the last year Sami has played in 24 of Pakistan’s 30 one-day internationals. The only other bowler to have played more is Abdul Razzaq with 28. Sami is by far Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker, with 44 at an average of 24.5.

“I think he’s feeling tired, and he needs a break,” Woolmer told AFP.

“I’ve told him to get away from the game and go on a holiday. Sami shouldn’t worry about it, we can sort it out later.”

The coach took over from Javed Miandad in time to take the team to the Asia Cup. His experience has shown him that Pakistan need more fast bowlers to share the workload.

“Potentially we have the world’s best pace attack, but all the fast bowlers are overloaded,” he explained.

“I want to get eight fast bowlers up and running so that we can swap them around in one-dayers like the Australians do.”

Woolmer is optimistic that eight bowlers will be easily found.

“There are millions of fast bowlers in Pakistan, it’s an amazing situation as every kid wants to bowl quick,” he said.

Pakistan were knocked out of the Asia Cup when India beat Sri Lanka on Tuesday. While the latter two teams will meet again in the Cup final, Pakistan will prepare for a triangular one-day tournament - also featuring Australia and India - in Holland.

:hehe: Rang biringay Sami - Pakistan ka naam roshan kar diya phir se!
