I am baffled by the fact that a lot of men grow long mustache when they go to Pakistan, do they think they can scare people by doing this? What is the link behind Pakistani men and long mustache? I just don’t understand why they do this in Pakistan!

Its hard to explain. I had a hard time explaining this to an American who was really interested in our culture, people and language. Seriously, everytime I'd turn Geo or ARY on, you'd have these moonchars on 24/7, it felt like it was customary in Pakistan to have a mustache! On top of that, both our great presidents over the last year or so were moonchars too! I guess they think they look macho in them?

In Pakistan moonch is in, only pappoo bachas are clean shave.

All races and cultures have moustaches. Some cultures have more people with moustache than others. Some bigger than others. Those who have huge Moonch can be "phattoos"!
Same goes with having a beard. All kind of beard are seen among people of different cultures.
Old timers in both 'east' and 'west' had more people with moustaches and beard. Perhaps shaving was a cumbersom thing or it was a trend.

Although mustaches look alright on some guys, I prefer a clean shave. Now what really bugs me is the guys in Pakistan who take their mustaches too far....and they have this huge caterpillar thing growing across their upper lip that twirls at the edges. Eeeeew!

i'm sure no one will really give a chuwanni about what you like and prefer. simply because a moonch is no ones business except the one who is minding it.
you so called liberal and open-minded ppl should really learn to live and let live...the mantra...chantra...pantra...whatever you like to repeat to extremists...because you are not better than them when it comes to showing leverage [some are not behind when it comes to showing cleveage...but i'll leave it for some other time]...
