Just a few days ago before the operation against Lal Masjid the foreign media were writing off Musharraf, but now all the headlines are positive, and western leaders are praising him. Mashallah.
UK PM ‘praises Musharraf’s role against terrorism’
I think they forgot to mention that the operation was launched a day after he was humiliated in the court regarding the CJ case. However, in this operation I am 100% with him, but the question remains, why did he delay the action? However these reports should please him that his employers are happy with him.
Pakistani Politics are enough to make you go insane…
So now we are supporting him again…
I support Musharaf in this 100%, but that doesnt mean that this can be a blank check…
We still need strong institutions through real democracy, without military intervention…

he was pretty sure this gonna happen wid him in CJ case. so wat ever he did is good politics. (so far)
last 35 years of pakistan politics hav been f****d-up by the following players;
PLEASE note down their FATE as well....
bhutto...so called 'the leader'....in whos time alcohol was served openly in army messes.....had a very open mind.......................................HANGED.
zia....ruled for more than a decade..close assoc with cia/usa...........promoted islam.................................................SHOT DOWN
bb..............did such things that she is even not able to land in pakistan....forget about living here.........
ns.........nuclear blasts...created history........again cant even think of coming back.....
mush........close to usa......enlightened moderation...lets see wht happens????
no matter who ever is in power in pak....the controller is someone else.....and probab all of us know of the controller!!!!!!
the basic concept is the same in all cases.....first use and then throw away!!!!
The fact he has to send in troops, in the capital next to government buildings just shows he is a failure. Should not have got to this in the first place.
stupid shumuck is trying to be savvy wont work, this buys him what another 8 months in power? max a year?but he might just blow up the entire nation by then, since this jerk has been in power there has been nothing but bloodshed
82,32,45,20,16 this coupled with the natural catastrophes and his stuffed up management and planning, Pakistan is going through the darkest of ages and i wish to heavens we find a better substitute and it wont take much to be better than this.
like risc says, it should never have gotten this far, with so many weapons such as RPGs etc and apparently Al-Qaeda affiliated groups inside. It is in intelligence failure a stone's throw from the seat of government at a time when Islamic radicalism IS the intelligence's priority.
while Musharraf's government has handled the operation decently, I dont see why I should support him any more after this bungled and irresponsible handling of the whole situation over the last year.
there are more important issues in the country, floods foremost, the judicial crisis, the power cuts. the sooner this is resolved, the better for the country.
Cut him some slack, I think his govt. handeled the situatuion very professionally. We are seeing about 1200 youths that might have ended up dying young if he had "acted sooner" as some of you say he should have.
The best part is that we exposed the fraud and corrupted mentality of these mullahs. They ask young people to lay down their lives for a meaningless, useless death killing only their own people and bringing shame to their nation and religion, while themselves cowardly escaping the same situation in a womens burka. Hopefully, this will send message to the younger generation of muslims in Pakistan not to trust these fanatics.
pakap can you explain how. suppose they did the exact same operation when they first started acting up, say two three months ago. how would things be worse? the only thing more time allowed them was more weaponry, more confidence about defying the govt and more alliances with militants.
one of the brother was fired from his post as the imam soon after afghan war, another imam appointed in his place but he never stepped down, no action what so ever then been taken, their close pal ejaz ul haq is the minister of religious affairs has stepped in once before to protect them, still no action been taken. and this splendid handling of situation earned pakistan some more bright sparks in international community, not to mention the loss of lives and some will cheer this govt. apni apni himat hai.
