Ghilail.. I agree in some cases.. there is a gentleman we know that has a wife in Pak (he has been here 15 yrs). Before he left he had 3 kids and came here to US for a job. He calls home once a week and talks to wife and kids.... you know... after shushing his girlfriend. He hasn't gone back in 15 yrs, all he is is a paycheck at this point. I don't know. I like it that he takes care of his responsibilities, but I think marriage is very unfair in instances like that. It is a no-win situation for the wife while it seems the guy is living here with a girlfriend and doing as he likes.
But I also know some that send for their families within days of getting their green cards usually after a couple of years. The committment was there, just not the means.
Depends on the people involved and their goals...
