I’m thinking of wearing a long dress (whats in now) on my wedding in Sep 2012 IA… the only thing worrying me is that i’m gna luk like a midget trotting down to the stage Although i’m gna wear killer heels (well big enough to walk in) I still now i’m gna luk like a small troll… i’m 4ft 11 Not sure what length to keep the dress
I think you will look fine as long as you wear heels. Keep the bottom of the shirt half a foot off the ground and make sure it's fitted well around the waist.
Id suggest emphasizing the waist line, maybe an empire waist line if its a long dress (floor length) and as long as it's a flared or looser fit on the hips downwards it shouldn't be a problem.

spot on .. too much tightness on the waist/hips area makes you look fat .. u need it to fall.
hey all, thank you so much for all the feedback...(noted)
I'm not realy sure are you saying that have it touching the floor or a hand span just above the ankle?
crown, your OP made me laugh....you're too cute. But seriously, the designs you linked to have a long line opening down the front which should also help to make you look longer by drawing the eye up and causing the top to open around the hips so it doesn't stick to your butt. Obsession99 is saying that it should sweep the floor, but I feel like sweeping floor makes me look shorter, so I don't know. What if you tried it on, are you buying the pieces from RDC, or are you going for a replica, btw? They are gorgeous, I love your choice.

oh snap!!! im going to RDC aswell they have amazing stuff i actually got teary eyed when i saw them in Asiana hahaha
and as for your query, well im 5"1 and recently i wore a maxi style anarkali on my cousins wedding (as the bridesmaid) with heels it actually creates and elongating effect and you 1) look slimmer and 2) look a little taller…
I’m also short (5 ft). My hubby is almost 6 ft. so my worries were not only looking short with my outfits…but in general standing next to him!
I wore shoes that had 5 inch heels and 1 inch platform. I did not feel or look like a midget on that day.
Sky high heels will take care of the height issue. And make sure the dress fits like a glove. Keep jewelry to a miminum. With our petite frames, too much or too big jewelry (and other bridal accessories) can easily overwhelm our petite figures.
