So i have finally found the courage to venture in the arena of long boots. But i am sooo stumped on what kind to get. I know for sure that i want flat ones or atleast with a very small heel but i also want something that will make a classic and elegant statement. I need it mainly to wear with skirts and sometimes with pants.
So please help me out with whats best out there in terms of comfort and beauty. Since i am really clueless, please share on what goes with what.

welcome to the club! i myself bought my first pair few weeks back from Aldo.. pretty expensive here in dubai.. thank God they were on sale.. otherwise wud have cost me 400 dhs. i bought them for 300! since i m preg, i cudnt buy the normal heel ones.. so i bought the 'riding boots'. they are awesome and comfy too and u can wear them on anything!!! as opposed to the one with heels that r not only uncomfy but sometimes not always look gud. boots luk great with long dresses, u can wear tights underneath and then boots or u can wear them with skinny jeans and a nice fitted top... or u cud wear them with skinny jeans, a nice top and a nice coat or blazer.. it looks cool. i wore mine with the latter.. :)

oh.. im in the same boat. i jus dont know what to get. Whys it so hard to find a decent pair? Either the heels to big or they look awful. Im looking for a nice classy pair too. Prefebly knee high or maybe jus below the knee.
I love knee high boots. I'm no fashion expert but I would stay away from anything above the knee (sorry, I know they're enjoying a moment but they just look totally slutty to me) and look for something with a narrow cut and no buckles, fringe, etc. for a classic look. Buckles seem to be in now in the US but I think it's best to keep it sleek and simple, anything too chunky can start looking goth, and fringe looks too Olsen twins circa 2006.

Yeah they can look slutty but depends how u dress it with them if you get what i mean. How ever that 'slutty' look can sumtimes be 'in'

cudnt agree more, riding booots that are flat always look classy, i am obsessed with boots, i have flats and heeled ones, but flat ones go with everything, also i think long suede boots are very classy too!!!

just wanted to add that genuine leather boots look classy so try and stay away from the fake leather ones as they just look really cheap and tacky. suede ones are nice 2. i personally LOVE ugg boots. i knw not every1 likes them but i love them with skinny jeans

i SO want those long boots. honestly, my legs are not thick or fat, but i cannot seem to find ones that are wide enough to fit my legs + jeans.

^ omg thats exactly me. I tried on these boots and i cudnt get them over my jeans i thought my legs were too fat but then i rolled up my jeans and they fitted perfectly. Its a shame, Why is it SO hard to find sum boots?!
i agree with lipstick. Ugg boots r the best! can be worn with anything!!

I love my long boots!! I bought one pair for winter everyday use that are flat and have a fur lining with these really cute pom pom's. and i have my leather ones that are soooo classy and do look great with skirts or even over skinny jeans! Yea you girls will have to invest in leggings and skinny jeans to wear these boots or else the whole look is ruined imp...cause it gets all scrunched up and/or the boots don't close...

I luv tall boots as well… I have 2 pairs at the moment… both black and leather. One pointy toe with a 4 inch stiletto heel from Nine West. They look great with leggings and jeans if you want a dressier look. My other pair has somewhat of a pointy/round toe… its like in between.. and it’s flat. Perfect for everyday.
My problem is I can’t find boots that fit a small calf 
My legs are too thin. And It looks weird and feels awkward when there is this huge gap in the calf. I actually got my stiletto boots TAILORED. So weird.. i know. And my flat boots are ok… as long as I wear them with jeans. Too much gappage with leggings

I bought a nice pair from Dune a few days ago. They're dark brown leather boots with a 2 inch heel.
