London tailor reviews

Can Ladies please post details of tailors they have used in London and what they were like?

Good Tailors are hard to find and bad ones can end up costing a fortune in wasted outfits not to mention the upset and inconvinience!

Please tell us about the good, the bad and definatley the ugly!

I’ll start…

**Name: **Yasmin

**Number **07549512041

Location: Southall in the Himalaya centre opp Mongas

What I had stitched: A Blouse and adjustment of 2 kameez

Experience: My bouse fits pretty well - no problems there, the suits just needed adjustment so not really a big job BUT what i will say is that she took absoloutley forever!! even then she only adjusted my suits when i was there in person and made her do it as she was already a week late

**Would i recommend her?: **For basic stuff yes; the blouse was stitched okay - not sure what she will be like with more complicated things. her time keeping is an issue however

Re: London tailor reviews

Good thread, i need a tailor and im not quite sure who to trust :(

Re: London tailor reviews

i know mehr - there are so many in certain areas that it gets confusing - also we dont want to take a risk with our beloved clothes!!

Re: London tailor reviews

I have been to Bano's tailors in green street a few times, they do a VERY good job, but their prices are high, aroung 30-35 pounds for stitching, lining and zip. but the suits I have had made there are made very well. the only other thing i would say is that they also take up to a month to make the suit as well as they are quite busy!
Not sure what the tailor is called, but he is located in Bano in green street, Upton Park, there's also a Bano in Ilford too.
I would recommend, but be prepared for the month long wait and the pricey cost!

Re: London tailor reviews

Do you know if Yasmin does adjustments to western clothes (eg skirt shortened, sleeves added etc)?

Re: London tailor reviews

Where abouts is bano's on green st? my sis-in-law got me a nice threads and motifs outfit and i want to get a dress sewn but dont know where to go. :(

Re: London tailor reviews

Hi deeba1234 - i imagine so - shortening a hem and adding sleeves isnt difficult work for a tailor so am sure she can do it.

Re: London tailor reviews

WHATS yasmin price

Re: London tailor reviews

i think it was £20 for a blouse and maybe £4 for kameez adjustment? I cant remember actually - best to call and check

Come on girls!!:flowers:

Re: London tailor reviews

My SIL knows a good one but she's quite expensive.. I think she's Indian or Bengali (she lives off Green Street somewhere).. She does lovely fitted saree blouses and other bits and pieces.. Will have to get the number..

Re: London tailor reviews

Re: London tailor reviews

I have had some clothes stitched by Yasmin and I absolutely wouldn’t recommend her!

She did not sew my clothes properly and then her unit in Khan City (next to Banwait Brothers) got repossessed because she wouldn’t pay her rent or electricity bills. When this happened, my clothes and the clothes of other customers were stuck in the unit and we couldn’t access them. Yasmin stopped answering calls to her mobile and wouldn’t budge on paying up either.

Then when the situation was finally resolved (she had to open up across the road in her brother’s small mobile shop), she ruined my clothes and took my money.
