London - Student Visa - Few Queries

I am opening this thread in order to seek some information and guidance for the Student Visa Category.

I have done BCS with 2nd Division from KU in the year 1997 and now I wish to take admission for the Masters in the same area. I’ve met a consultant here in Karachi who has advised me to get an admission in London College of Business, Law and Technology. He has further advised me that after the issuance of Visa for the said course (18 months), he can get the course change for me.

To be honest, I am very much confused here as I’ve never visited UK nor have much info about the place, its environment and the academic scenario. Is it possible to get some valuable feedback from the UK Guppies at this Board ?

Im looking forward to get advise/suggestion on the followings:-

a) Is the college London College of Business, Law and Technology is good ?

b) My main purpose is to earn money not to get education as Im near to touch my 30’s. So do you think this college is best as Im looking forward to get admission in a college where I can just attend 1 or two class and can pay much attention on my work …

c) What types of jobs one can easily get after coming on Student Visa from Pakistan?

d) What about getting accomodation ? Sharing? How much wud it cost?***

Looking forward to your replies (u can also email me at [email protected]) … God bless you all !

I think this is from new breed of private commercial colleges just recently started. for visa it may be good, but it will notbe for studies. its worth checking its affiliated University.

well legelly you can work only 20 hours per week as a student. mostly full time Masters have only two days of lectures anyway.

c) What types of jobs one can easily get after coming on Student Visa from Pakistan?

its hard part, if you have experience and also lucky you can get good part time job but mostly students will get only macdonalds or take away or super market jobs. Dont expect too much at start.

d) What about getting accomodation ? Sharing? How much wud it cost?

in london shared accomodation can cost from 50 - 90 pounds per week in outer london zones.
1 bed flat or studio can cost about 150 - 250 pounds per week depending on location in outer london.

Wrong approach. Try to get the work permit to work in UK and come as a worker. Now a days government is extremely strict about the tricks you are trying to play.

Decision is urs.

while work permits are not issued these days for IT or other work. Try for HSMP , this will be very good route and it will take not more than 4 months.

and yea, that lcblt college is just for business purposes to lure pakistani students, I dont think they will be issued with visas now, enough already got in to this scams of private college opend by people who himself are not graduates.

they are not even issued with official domains of ac.uk cuase they are commercial , they issue visa documents, rip off students with non refundable fees. for some it has worked but now high commission is refusing these students for visa.

my advise is come on HSMP or if you still keen on student visa then apply in a good college or uni

good luck
