Interesting that the guy would go all the way back to WWI. Ever wonder what the Middle East would look like today if western democracies had not interceded to bring stability to the area after the fall of the Ottoman Empire? Livingston may have a point. The Arabs might still be traveling on camels wondering why they can’t get clean by bathing in their vast resources of black water. They might be trying to get their black water out of the ground by having their slaves suck it out with plastic tubes. Syria, Lebanon and Jordan would likely not be independent countries that we’d have to worry about at all. The islamic fundamentalists probably wouldn’t know what an airplane was much less figure out how to highjack and fly one.

Oh what a wonderful world it would be.
