We’ll be in London for two days (Saturday and Sunday). What are the must-do things in London? Should we try and get to the touristy places ourselves or join in with a tour group?
Also, what are the best places to eat?

yeh there is a place a few hours from london...across the atlantic..that's the only fun place near london..unforunately..
Re: London in 2 days
Join in with a tour group…I wasted my vacations too…when i was there for 4 days & tried to see all of the London by myself:bummer:
I'd get a map and the tube timetable and then plan your own trip.. tours cater to collective interest.. u may wanna skip a lot of those places and hit the ones that interest you the most.. two days aren't enough to see all London has to offer.. but if u keep away from Window Shopping etc u can make good progress and see a lot.
Lussi, do you want to start a war here?!!!
Shopping is not something we want to do... :)
Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Parliament House, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, The Tower of London and Westminster Abbey
can we go to all these places in 2 days?
Join some tourist group!.. nah… most tourist places are in central london. and you can get information from any tourist office when you arrive. Many places to eat in and around central London. Buy a weekend travel card, £8.50 each, which is valid on all tubes and busses, both Saturday and Sunday. Get a detailed map from any tourist office.
by the way, on saturday we are having an Aftaar party in central London DETAILS

you can actually walk between the places, theya re not too far from one another, if u like walking that is, otherwise yeah you can visit all these places in a day, but it also depends on your interest levels, some places you are not going to spend a lot of time..tower bridge for example, or london bridge, so u see the bridge and u are done, but at the tower of london, now that place you can spend a half a day easily if u are into history.

of course, its not the biggest, most lavush, the most overstyled etc etc, but it is the first, it is where the whole hard rock cafe phenomenon started.
well the blarney stone aint all that either but it has some significance. and by that token hajr-e-aswad is just a black stone, but some people find it significance..right. As I said..bandar kya janay adrak ka maza
