Penalty corners are awarded like freebies in today's hockey. It can also be a negative tactic like deliberately striking or aiming for the foot of an opponent inside the D!!

I think the rules regarding penalty corners are a bit too harsh on the players and the team and need to be revisited. It is understandable if you deliberately push or foul a player, raise your stick dangerously high in the air or stop the ball with your foot inside the D.

I know rules are rules but should it really be a penalty corner each time the ball hits a player's foot or flies off his stick in the air (when he was only trying to defend or block a shot)?

It just interrupts the flow of hockey

There are for instance no penalty corners in football, just corners and penalties
