Walima is one sunah, walima after consummation is another. One can combine both sunnah if possible** but walima is not going to be haram if Sex did not happen

Completely agree TLK. It will not be haram, that is too strong a word. It is merely a case of doing something good (ie waleema) and doing something better (ie walima after consummation). No question that both are halal and both are correct.

And yes the possibility is always there.
