Re: Logic Quiz
Hope PS and you enjoy the long weekend!
Re: Logic Quiz
I have to admit such all the question in this tread, lose half of their difficulty due to fact they are presented in written form.
Human brain have limitation for holding things in cash memory. Which make it real hard to solve such question when presented verbally.
What is cash memory. Can either PS or you respond?
Re: Logic Quiz
What is cash memory.
Tonight when go to bed. Count 99 to 0 skipping 2 steps like
99
96
93
this is sequence but it make you use your cash memory, so you would know, its going to occupy
every slot (register in CS terms) of your brain, hence leaving you literally empty headed.

Thank you, Mr. Monk. Hope this was a quotable post. If not, am happy to delete quoted portion.
PS: Cash is king in this market. While buybacks arent. You can take that to the bank.
Re: Logic Quiz
Is it a quiz? let me start calculation :joel:
Re: Logic Quiz
Did you pay cash for that typewriter?
Re: Logic Quiz
Finally was able to solve yr quiz without looking at Tahurra's answer but ofcourse later verified it:
[QUOTE]
Luke wants a shiny and Gold Apple , Lana wants a big orange hammer, Lidya needs a green flowery watch

Guilt admit: It wasnt that hard however needed some focus and writing
Re: Logic Quiz
okay, so since the @psyah question is done. I have next question
There are 4 people who need to cross the bridge. Each one has different walking speed.
A can cross the bridge in 3 minute
B can cross the bridge in 4 minutes
C can cross the bridge in 9 minutes
D can cross the bridge in 12 minutes
At any given time, bridge can hold the wait of maximum 2 people. And to cross the bridge, a torch/candle is required. A bridge can’t be crossed without the torch/candle.
What will be the smallest interval of time you guys can pair up the people to cross the bridge.
**
Please see update to for clarifications about the light source. **
p.s:
The question is similar to the one i asked earlier in which you guys had to find minimum repitition to find the lightest ball. There could be multiple answers but what i am looking for is “smallest time require to cross the bridge”. So I wouldn’t be saying that your answer is wrong or right just because your number is higher than the smallest. I will just wrote the answer (or will tell who figured out the answer) once everyone is done writing their answers.
Re: Logic Quiz
So how many torches/candles are there?
Re: Logic Quiz
Assuming they all are going from point X to point Y, my answer is 15.
Re: Logic Quiz
I answered your previous question without seeking clarification so now I am seeking clarification. Please detail the significance of the candle more carefully at the moment it holds no relevance to the puzzle. Who lights the candle? Who holds the candle? Is it the same candle? What does it mean? “Bridge can’t be crossed without candle” … If you give them a candle each it makes the candle irrelevant … i’m guessing you only have one candle and it needs to remain on the bridge while all four have crossed. Please clarify …
Re: Logic Quiz
Hahaha ^psyah. I had all those questions in mind too! Thought I was gonna complicate things and look stubborn so nevermind asking. Glad you did.
OK, assuming the torch allows light for all, C (9 min) & D (12 min) go together. Once C (9 min) has crossed, B (4 min) can start. When D (12 min) is done, A (3 min) can join. Totaling 15 min.

I answered your previous question without seeking clarification so now I am seeking clarification. Please detail the significance of the candle more carefully at the moment it holds no relevance to the puzzle. Who lights the candle? Who holds the candle? Is it the same candle? What does it mean? "Bridge can't be crossed without candle" ... If you give them a candle each it makes the candle irrelevant ... i'm guessing you only have one candle and it needs to remain on the bridge while all four have crossed. Please clarify ...
Sorry, I wasn't clear about the light in my question. So bridge can only be crossed if one person has a light (candle or torch) in his hand. And at the moment, they have only one light source. So if two people cross the bridge with one holding the light. The other two (which are waiting at the other end of the bridge) can't cross the bridge until someone brings the light source back to them.

Please see my clarifications above. No one can walk on the bridge without the light source. So in your case, when C (9 min) is done ... D (12 min) can't complete his walk unless someone else brings the light source to him. So he will just stop there.

See http://www.paklinks.com/gs/general/657960-logic-quiz-12.html#post10324703 for clarifications about the light source.
@SID_NY please re-thing your answer as I clarified few things about lightsource.
Re: Logic Quiz
It should be 16 then
Re: Logic Quiz
I sorta agree with with SID_NY but he might not be considering the light source.
Assuming that when the people start to walk in a given direction they have to continue until they get to the other side. They can't stop on the bridge.
Then at t=0 D and B leave together - the candle is with D.
At t=4, B should be across so A can follow on to the bridge
At t=7, C can set off since only D remain on the bridge
However by t=12, C will have only completed 5/9th of its journey and there would be no light source
So A comes to the rescue and goes back collecting the light from D when it completes its journey at t=12
So A goes to the other end with candle in hand and comes back, the double trip taking 6 mins so in the last 2 minutes only A remains on the bridge. Which makes t=18
However if the people do not have to go end to end on the bridge then the time can be reduced to 16 mins, but this requires A to stop midway and align his return with C.
Re: Logic Quiz
If I understood the logic correctly, then my answer is 29.
Will post explanation later in the day.
Re: Logic Quiz
@psyah and other - shoukd we assume there is onky ONE Torch / candle?
