Hi,
I am hoping that you all will help me find this jerk. I have found a lil info, but I’d like to find this guy and kick his a**. Someone has hacked into my sis’s comp and have stolen her pics and uploaded on few desi sites. Is there a tool that could locate this a**hole. So far I know that he is using rogers services and he is located around markham area. I don’t know if I can write down ip adds, as I am not much into reading privacy statments. Please help me out.

hmmm … see what your (sister’s) ISP’s policy is to hacking and how they handle such incidents. And if your sisters’ got a firewall running (which is not very much possible, else she would have averted 80% of the hackers) then try to save the logs as evidence.
In order to find out the ISP, go to www.samspade.org and type in the IP address of the apprehender and you should get details of the ISP … so that you can contact them. Most of the time nothing happens … these guys just walk away. But make sure you’ve got a firewall installed (Kerio is :k: ), an AV running and not to forget the Anti-spyware software.

hmm thanx nos for a prompt reply and I have done most of it, she has a firewall and I have contacted the Rogers but I know they wont do ****. But, I was hoping I could track down this guy on ma own. find his email add sort a thing.

How do we find out someone’s IP address? Send them a file or something?

Another thing u can do is contact the sites that he posted the picturs on and tell them what happened. Maybe they'd be sympathetic. I don't think the ISP is going to do anything unless u get some lawyer and have them write a letter for you.
DHTN, there's various ways you can get the IP address. Setup auditing on your Windows XP machine and then check the Event log (security) to see who accessed what. You can also look at the firewall logs etc.

find his email addy n' do what? Send him an email threatening him to delete the pics or else ... ? You'll be making a fool out of yourself dear. The best thing to do is scare the **** out of his living soul - Call the law on him, Call up your ISP and ask if they have any procedures in place for such incidents. Also, call up his ISP and check the same .... else he's walking away with it like any other skiddie.
Most importantly, make sure you've got your defenses in place. He might have left a keylogger on your system or even a backdoor. Try to find the root cause for the incident ... else more trouble is heading your way.

^Basically u can't do anything about it, even if u get someone's ip addy......Unless u are willing to put tousands of dollars on online investigations and legal costs.

PD; if you are in the US then the Feds will only jump in if you’ve incurred a loss of more than $5000 … that’s the law 
Dont know how you could calculatet the loss in your case, definitely is great!

You can do a lot by an ip if you know how to use it. 
Beside Kingshah security wise her computer is in a pretty good condition, but since she is illitrate in tech, she turns off her firewall if comp is getting slow or anything is taking too much time and thats where she made the mistake.
Nos and tofibaba thank you so much for your responses. nos no I am in canada and I know I can still do a lot of harm if I want to. But, I know this guy is using ip spoofer and using someone else’s ip who has been disconnected from rogers for a long time now. And, I have got his sites login name and pw and have made changes to it also got his hotmail account will find my lead somehow. I know this person is in my reach and would have to pay a big time price. Just wish me luck that I get my hands on this freak and I will make his life real hell like he has done to my sis.

btw; I don't think one can establish a TCP connection (three-way-handshake) using a spoofed IP address. So that's one possibility less, and a step closer to the apprehender ;)

you can use www.ip2location.com to find the exact location and ISP of a person if you have his/her ip address.

kaka thanx, I know this person is in oshawa, I already did my search on this guy yesterday. But originally he is located in Toronto. And I know this guy has to be one of her friend or ex friend.

first of all its PD, secondly no I don’t have any sort of hidden access to anything; although, I would luv to :D. However, its never too hard to achieve any goal if you are persistent enough and if you have a lil brain

No, its been more than an yr that I have been called PD and PG is someone else’s nick. And I did not u/s your last sentence, r u calling yourself and idiot or me? I am quiet nieve when it comes to hidden terms
