Locals protest gas supply at Shahbaz Sharif’s Doonga Gali residence

MURREE: Residents of Mohra, Bara Hoter, Sanmbal Biha, Phaphphril, Gohra, and Sain areas around Murree staged a demonstration at Lower Topa, protesting the provision of natural gas to the residence of the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif, when the people in the 400 villages of the area were deprived of the utility.

Speakers from various political parties, NGOs, teachers and representatives of the civil society said that the Punjab government was depriving a large number of villages of natural gas as the gas pipeline was passing through these villages to supply the CM’s private residence only, located at Doonga Gali. They demanded that this problem should be resolved as soon as possible. They said that proper arrangements should be made for uninterrupted supply of gas to their areas. They said that Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) candidates contested general elections on the issue of the gas supply project to the rural areas but even after four years, not a single village of Murree had been provided gas connections.

My Comments: Why do even the most respected politicians in Pakistan still seem to behave as they are better deserving than the common people?
