Right looking it like that, the Pakistani opinion of the Taliban in the 80s and the early 90s was high as well. Hell it goes for the US as well. Does that mean the US supports the Taliban?
They obviously DID support the taliban or at least the forefathers of the taliban through the ISI. They were able to let go of this because they don't have any religious feelings towards taliban. This has been much harder for pakistanis.
