**Protests over power leave four dead in India ** Sunday, January 20, 2008
PATNA: At least four people were killed and dozens injured in overnight clashes between police and villagers protesting poor power supply in one of India’s poorest and most lawless states, police said on Saturday.
Tensions over long periods of power outage in the Kahalgoan area of eastern Bihar state boiled over on Friday when protesters turned violent, prompting police to use batons and open fire. It was not immediately clear if the victims died from baton injuries or in police firing.
Violence continued on Saturday with protesters setting fire to two hospitals and some vehicles. “The situation is very tense and we are trying our best to bring things under control,” Jitendra Singh Gangwar, a state police officer, said. Bihar, notorious as India’s “wild west”, is a byword for poverty, chaos and despair. reuters
Re: Load-shedding leaves 4 dead, dozens injured in Hindustan - Hospitals/cars set ali
Well It is true....unfortunately that happens at times in India, since continues load-shedding of 5-6 hours is quite normal in parts of India. I emphasize on continues before start jumping to wrong conclusions regarding my post.
Re: Load-shedding leaves 4 dead, dozens injured in Hindustan - Hospitals/cars set ali
shabash, your testosterone will stop load shedding, thank you for accelerating death process for patients in hospitals and saving some fuel by burning some vehicles :k:
Seriously, all over the world people use their wrong body parts when protesting (mostly)

"protesters setting fire to two hospitals and some vehicles".
They should ask a question to themselves - Do they every their electricity bills or just prefer to bribe someone. Most people in India think electricity is their right and they do not have to pay for it. It's disgusting. I have seen some well to do people bribing rather than paying their bills. How can a government provide power to so many people when no one wants to pay for it.

That is the situation Pakistan faces, yet people continue to blame the government as if it is their god given right to have free electricity. :)
