Since this Issue is up and running in every form of Media in Pakistan i thought putting in some info regarding this topic.
I spoke of a System that may cost around Rs. 3-4 Lakh.
Well with this amount of money u can put up a Solarplant of 1,5kWp (1500 Watt Peak).
This means on average this 1,5kWp can produce around 7kWh - 8kWh per day and to be honest that’s a lot of energy if it’s used with sense.
Here a few steps that should help an efficient usage of energy and more important saving energy.
Replace the usual Bulbs and Tube Lights with LED-lights. They’ll cost u more than usual bulbs/Tube Lights but will save a lot of Money=Energy in the Long run.
When u buy a Refrigerator look at the energy consumption. If u’ve an older model that put on a “Time Switch” which can switch off the Refrigerator every half an hour for 10 min or so in order to initiate the compressor only when the temp. is going up significantly.
Take off devices that are on Standby a lot but r used rarely. A switched Plug should help.
Cooling is a Major energy consumer. So for private houses who have the possibility should a thin layer of Mud on the roof in order to deflect the heat a bit. If u now water the mud it’ll function as cooling system for the rooms below the mud layer. The condensation of the Water into the atmosphere takes the heat out of the boy below.
Further Take little Bamboo plants in a little pot and put two or three of them in the room u want to cool. Remember to water them regularly.
For houses yet to be built one should following technology.
It helps to cool down the floor of rooms and to warm it up in Winter months.
These r only a few steps that can be taken to produce, use and save energy.
I’ll try to keep this thread alive as it’s not only PPL in Pakistan who r need but all over the World. So i hope others will come with ideas as well.

PPP can not generate electricity from its behind. It is the planning of successive government to estimate future consumption and then plan for future power projects. Since decades none had thought of this problem seriously. Only adhoc arrangements were made which gave temporary relief. Now PPP has given Iran's Gas Pipe Line project which will generate enough electricity to cater for present and future demands. But I have seen already gas is coming out from the behind of anti-PPP who are scared how this mega project would be completed. Only PPP governments have been capable of giving such projects, none had balls since partition to initiate such mega projects. Name any. All other governments were dependent on Sam.

PPP haram khors, starting from nationalization, have always considered national assets as something to plunder at will and we can see the fruits in shape of whatever is left of them. Raja Rental's achievements are for all of us to see and celebrate.

In absence of failures of successive previous governments, PPP had to face this nonsense sh!t. Zardari has given you a mammoth project, which will tackle this problem for the future governments if implemented in letter and spirit.

The flushing started as soon as ZAB took power and started inducting jiyalas into nationalized industries.
I would have appreciated Zardari a lot if he initiated the project a few years ago. The onus, of starting and completing this project, as you have also pointed out, is on the next government. This government doesn't have to do anything except 'niqab kushai'. Thanks but no thanks.

The commode was established in 1970s to nationalize everything and turn it into a white elephant. Other than this gas pipeline (which was not brainchild of PPP anyways), what other power projects were 'studied' or setup during 2008-2013?

ppp can't even generate electricity from power plants. remember the mobile rental power plant that was supposed to produce 500MW of electricity? it could produce only 50MW of electricity.

I wonder how will the govt pay for gas generated electricity considering that it isn't as cheap (pegged at 70% of crude) when dams could have been cheaper. My mom was shocked when she was talking to someone back in Pakistan about fruits costing 1,600 rupees and paan costing 500 rupees... NO WONDER that my sister's friend told her that all her salary disappears in water and electric bills.

The huge structure of WAPDA needs to changed into regional sectors , Some 24-25 , Likely regions of Balochistan can produce all its needs in very easy ways by wind ,solar ,local coal and gas projects , No need of heavy line losses through through these 500 Kv type lines mega structure built there . You can get some local investment depends and share holders to run the system smoothly like British era .
Same about KP . Peshawar depends on Tarbela and Warsak .Hazara also depends on Tarbela , Dir Sawat depends on Malkand power, Dir ,Sawat and Chital are capable to produce their local needs through small projects on rivers . FATA should be run by local generation and DI Khan too have local coal and gas to produce some of their need . Karachi is already having its own system . Rest of Sindh should be given same tasks through four or more local systems .
Punjab is already trying to mobilize local product and if it is given to the regional authorities , it can help in solving problems .
