i guess i was just upset that u called my sincere advice to mahnoor as BS specially when it was based on Islamic teachings. I was giving her the correct advice and in my opinion you were misguiding her by telling her to be nasty with her parents.
yes, in my opinion, being harsh/nasty/loud towards elders is not permissible in Islam. and this is explicitly stated in the Quran which is the source of guidance for all Muslims.
anyways, i dont like fighting or arguing with ppl.. peace bro :) may Allah swt show all of us the light

just let them know ur point of view…
with older people, its a bit hard to get ur point across cos they are just so used to their own way of lives and the way things are/were done in their zamana.
be polite, dont be rude… but let them know what ur stance is on the matter, and you dont really have to do things that u dont agree to. “patience”.
I still wore my phatti hui jeans even though my mum used to threaten me at times that she,d throw it away. ![]()
I qoute my favorite poem, but pay attention to the last two verses
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
William Earnest Henley
