I could survive without my phone, it has lots of usefull apps but I only use it for making calls so I could always use my landline. If I lost my broadband I think I would have a breakdown! One time my laptop lost connectivity for 10 or so minutes, I almost had a stroke.
I love to live withuot my cell phone if I could. The other day we lost power for about 14 hours. It was Saturday and cell phone network towers close to our house were not working either so no cell phone signal. In spite of not having any electricity, that was probably a very peaceful time for us. No phone ringing, no sms coming, no emails downloading. It was great.
No it does not. Those days are over when they charged for roaming , text messaging is 10 dollars extra for unlimited texting. You have the control , use your computer to browse the internet.
before i used to think i dont need a phone.. but now that i have it...its just impossible to get rid of it or not have it with me when i go out.. i always feel incomplete without it.. and like some people before me said.. phone isnt just about calling and text messaging , although thats a huge part of what we pay for to our providers .. but its got a lot of things in just one device.. me being a user of iPhone enjoy twitter, facebook, 2/3 of my emails, music/ipod, full length movies, weather, games (chess etc) , current news ( bbc/cnn/pk news ), dictionary, and lotsa other cool applications which im very used to .. ( daily hadith, full Quran, full books of ahadith, Muslim/Bukhari etc ).. just too much to list... its about being approachable anytime and not get bored when you have nothing better to do.
