well of course…u still have 2 do ur part…thats ur farz as a child…but must it be accomplished by living in the same house?

i can see if ur the only son or perhaps the only child or if they were sick…but imagine if u have like 5 siblings and ur wife has to live with sooo many ppl.

actualy i come from a JOINT family system and YES ! 3 families and my grand parents lived in the same house for more then 15 years ask my mom ** she re-call them as her golden days ** and no offence but i'd personaly prefer somone who understand relation-ships and prior them over her own selfish desires.

just because a girl wants her own place of living is not selfish…according to Islam it isnt…are u saying that it is?

hell i dont even mind living in the backyard or the west wing of the house…as long as i can get some kinda space and privacy when i want it. Thats all i ask for..now someone tell me whats so selfish about that?

what if it only consisted of only one?

anyway…nothing wrong with living with ur in laws…it all depends on the situation.
I have respect for guys that wanna take care of their family…cuz if they take care of their own parents than they will take care of their wife and kid 2…hopefully. But we all have different definitions of “taking care of” it seems like. No one is wrong here…its just everyone has their own opinion. My mom doesnt have any sons…maybe i’ll find a nice guy who’d want me to help me take care of her…if not i wont get married.

be honest with urselves…u all say sons are suppose to “take care” of their parents…but who really takes care of the parents…the bahu does. The sons comes homes in the evening and eats, and sleeps…while the wife is the one who really "takes care of her in-laws cuz she is the one who in most cases is home with them day and night.

dont get me wrong now…i dont see anything wrong with that…but is it a must to live with them to take care of them if they are healthy and have other kids living with them?

I need to tell you this, that actually I thought maybe my mind would change on this topic. I've read all your replies. I agree and disagree with the points made by you all. But replying on all of it, I still stand on the same place about all of this. My opinion hasn't changed. :)
